Oblivion

Last evening was movie night. So once again my seat in the movies was free. Not in the money sense but the vacant. Oblivion was movie of choice today. And I went in to watch this with the open mind I have for all movies. Tom cruise in syfy is a bit difficult to swallow. Prefer home to stick to the mission impossible sagas. But wait it was mission impossible although he did have a large gun and wore silver pants and bullet proof silver jacket . ( not saying anything on that one). So I digress I love syfy fav genre truth be told. But this was mission impossible /independence day/moon all rolled into one.
The clones from film Moon staring Sam Rockwell with the one way mission into space and saving humanity from Independence Day and the mission impossible was bits were that of jack harper falling through a whole on a wire( can’t remember a movie he doesn’t do that in anymore) in slow motion although he didn’t get stopped an inch of the floor on this one. Captured by the left over resistance aka humans he thinks they are all bad until learning the truth that he is in fact a clone that monitors areas of the world until the alien life form lifts all natural resources. Jack was a space commander and he was taken by the aliens. His body and that of his co-pilot cloned to do the biding of the great and powerful. Yeh I know it’s from Oz.

The alien asks for them to come back for whatever reason however must bring the female.
Clone boy and Morgan freeman with not so many lines. Possibly getting paid a fortune for the few though. Get on the rather familiar looking space craft, the pod from planet of apes remake and head to obvious self inflicted doom. ( scene from Independence Day) funny every time I type that my ipad puts in the capitals hmm!
So we move on and jack clone he knows this woman.he has had visions of her in his dreams.
Anyhoo, they grow close she is pregnant and wait I know I have jumped quite a bit but hey you will not blame me you may thank m

The Heat

Cinema trip and today was The Heat . As an avid fan of Sandra and Melissa not just jumping on band wagon. But I remember Sandra in a very old film Love Potion #9 watchable for so many reasons but not quite sure why. And Melissa in Gilmore Girls as the quirky sookie. And since Melissa’s recent push up into stardom with Bridesmaids and the obvious big A+ of Sandra what a team, what could go wrong. Well it had all the right chemistry, two very strong female characters although Sandra back as the FBI agent that is slightly highly strung had memory throw backs to dare I say Miss Congeniality. So I move on to the story line. Both have major issues and between sorting them out and breaking a big drug ring case.. Throw in a few jokes mostly for Melissa. I must say may have been the writer she had in bridesmaids and identity thief for it had the same quick fire lines. But they make you chuckle purely for the fact you wish you had the dare I say tictac size testicals to repeat some of them especially the scene with her boss. ( oh if only I had bigger tic tacs)
It mad effort a pleasant afternoon watch not a massive block buster but I’m sure will do well when goes to DVD and onto Sky movies. Question is would I watch again.. Possibly but on my sofa with better popcorn at a much cheaper price.
